Earth Day Afternoon All our students were involved in one small group environmental activity (making bird feeders, planting trees, etc) and one large group audience participation activity (outside resources shared their environmental expertise with our students) on Friday, April 24. At the close of the afternoon we had a school sing-a-long and a presentation of money collected through our teachers-versus-students "penny war". It helped create a feeling of unity of purpose in our school. CARRIED OUT BY: Hawthorn Hills Elementary School, Grades k-4 Wausau, Wisconsin, U.S.A. RESPONSIBLE TEACHER / SUPERVISOR: Mike Otten SCHOOL PRINCIPAL / GROUP DIRECTOR: Bob Voelker
