WASTE - DECHETS - ELRECICLAJE  WILDLIFE

Project Bluebird

The students at HCC helped to save the habitat of bluebirds. Around our school area, new developments are being built and the bluebirds' homes are being damaged. A science teacher in our school had an idea to create bluebird boxes for the birds to live in. She needed funding so she came to the Student Council for help. We helped her out by having fundraisers such as a tree raffle and a guess-the -number-of-jelly-beans-in-a-jar contest. We conducted these events during our school's RESPECT week, April 20-24, to coincide with Earth Day, Arbor Day and the National Youth Service Day. We hope that all our work has helped to educate others and raise awareness about helping our environment.
