 Wildlife and forest protection  FOREST

Our schools’ efforts to protect the environment.

We, at Pierce College, are ecologically oriented. We appreciate nature and we are aware of the ongoing destabilization of our ecosystem. Every year we visit places all over Greece with great environmental interest. Most of them are protected under the Ramsar Agreement.

Our school cooperates extensively on ecological issues with the municipality of Aghia Paraskevi, the suburb where it is located. At present, we are concentrating our efforts on saving the local environment from possible destruction caused by the construction of a modern highway near our school.

We also plant trees every February in memory of the school’s founders. Finally, we have an Ecology Club, the members of which try to make us aware of any new environmental issues. They invite prominent visitors to give lectures to students on recent developments in the area of ecology and organise excursions of environmental nature.
