M.A.M.T.A.E.R - Environmental Monitoring Models for Waste Water Treatment and Renewable Energies

Construction of pedagogical models within the areas of waste water and renewable energies: Solar Refrigerator, Solar Distiller Laboratorial, Waste Water Treatment Plant, Wind Tunnel, Solar Collector, Portable Solar Lamp, Photovoltaic Technology Basics, experimenting/testing of models, chemical analysis of waste water before and after the treatment, study of biological parameters for water quality, measurements of solar irradiation, photovoltaic cells, wind speed etc.

Participation on interchange and placement programmes enabled students to co-operate in the process of comparing the efficiency of several models.

Interchange of results among students from partner institutions:
This pilot project was conceived by 6 partners from 4 different countries (Portugal, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands). The students involved in the different countries have benefited from the fact that research institutions worked side by side with professional/vocational schools.
