Planting of trees On Bird and Arbour Day'98, we invited our school for a "Let's plant a tree or a bush" action. It took place at our schoolyard and we received a "square" as a present from the local government. We celebrated the 50th anniversary of the local Swabian settlements this year. Limes were indigeneous in our village, but they were exterminated. We wanted to get them back. A tree also needs "a home" to feel to belong to somebody. To emphasize our action we invited the leaders of the village to accept responsibility for a tree. We planted the trees together then our guests took a vow for a tree. So 12 trees got their own patrons. We planted 419 trees/bushes (limes, roburs, ashes, thuyas, birches, maples, hazels.) Our trees will give us shade, calm, beauty and they will provide our grandchildren with oxygen. We are proud of taking care of them beforehand. CARRIED OUT BY: Pa'l Ra'day Primary School/English Course, Grade 7 Harta, Ba'cs-Kiskun, Hungary RESPONSIBLE TEACHER / SUPERVISOR: Dr. Baraba'sne' Andrea Gra'czer SCHOOL PRINCIPAL / GROUP DIRECTOR: Tibor Pa'lfi
