2. Person who is homeless

3. Person who has a life threatening disease

4. Person who is employed

5. Person who is unemployed

This activity is called the "Circle of Wisdom". Invite the students to volunteer to take one of the chairs and talk about being a person who is....hungry, homeless, sick, employed, etc. They can have personal experience with the issue, or they can explain what they think it would be like to experience the issue.

Treat the activity seriously. Tell the class that sharing personal experiences can sometimes be difficult and you would like them to give the presenter their full and undivided attention. Encourage the volunteers to share their experiences as much as they can.

Encourage the presenters to speak about :

what it is like to be ____

how they feel/felt being____

what they can teach others about being ____

what they would like to see happen about people in their position of _____
