The United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, explains some of its achievements in poverty eradication, including case studies in China, Sudan, Ethiopia, and El Salvador. UNDP talks about its approach (empowerment, not simply charity).

The United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development met to create a comprehensive plan of action called Agenda 21. It is meant to be used globally, nationally and locally by UN organizations, governments, and other major groups which impact the environment.
