Health Community Service Activity

Remind the students about the children that they learned about who were sick. Tell the class to think back to the activity and all of the issues that those children and their families faced concerning their health and access to proper health care. Organize a letter writing campaign to you local or national government on health care issues. Have the class write letters and call their representatives with what they think should be done about the state of healthcare in their community. Many times, government representatives receive few letters or visits about any subject. Letting your representative know that you are concerned about healthcare can make a difference.
