How It Happened- Activities and Further Discussion
Lesson

1. Look at the events and issues that lead up to the declaration of Women's Day. Have we solved these problems globally? Can you give examples?

2. Ask an older female in your family or community about the types of work she has performed in her life. What were her dreams at your age? How she has seen the role of women change during her lifetime? Share the results with your class.

3. Another United Nations Conference on the Status of Women will be held. All the countries of the UN will discuss ways of improving the lives of women all over the world. Imagine you are on a committee advising your government about what they should say at that conference. Make out a list of 10 rights that you feel all women should have.
