United Nations Climate Change Conference (Bali, Indonesia 3-14 December 2007).

United Nations Climate Change Conference (Nairobi, Kenya, 6-17 November 2006).

The Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Climate Change, (COP), is the highest decision-making authority of the Convention on Climate Change [A/E/F/R/S],

The Secretariat provides organizational support and technical expertise for COP negotiations and institutions. It facilitates the flow of authoritative information on implementation of the Convention.

Relevant international organizations include the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS).

Adoption of the Kyoto Protocol [A/C/E/F/R/S] (e.g. on mechanisms and methodologies; on land-use and forestry) has lead to increase of technical expertise within the Secretariat.
