The purpose of the Guild shall be to assist children in need and/or mother-child care programs throughout the world, and to serve as a mutual bond and center of interest for women connected with the United Nations Organizations around the world.

UN Women’s Guild ‘Brides of all Nations’
Gala to Benefit Children in Need

The United Nations Women’s Guild held a 60th Anniversary charity gala on November 5, 2009 to support a number of children’s charities in developing and developed countries.

The theme of the anniversary gala was “Brides of All Nations,” and featured a fashion show of traditional bridal wear from many UN member countries, many modeled by the spouses and daughters of ambassadors.

The venue was the lush NY Botanical Gardens in the Bronx. The evening began with a cocktail hour at 6:00p.m. followed by a formal, sit-down dinner catered by renowned Abigail Kirsch which included the presentation of the national bridal dresses followed by ballroom dancing with a live band.
